Agilists help the organization, teams and individuals in building the Agile mindset using Agile principles and practices through coaching, facilitation, mentoring and change managements skills.
Our coaches work in three different styles:
- Agile delivery leadership, leading high performing agile teams across geographies
- Agile coaching, improving how business and technology teams operate and interact
- Agile consultancy, helping stakeholders solve complex problems in a responsive way
What’s the role?
Mentor, coach and lead teams in a collaborative environment focused on achieving an effective Agile Transition.
- Targeted to functional and regional leadership teams.
- Strategic advisor on agile strategy and scaling agility.
- Enterprise and business agility advisor / consultant.
- Agile lead for teams comprising members up to VP level and above.
- Support leadership applying agile frameworks and mindsets.
- Possibility of work with on-site teams, so need may to travel.
- Spinning up new teams and putting structures in place to assure their success.
- Agnostic approach to lean and Agile frameworks, helping teams to choose their ways of working based on their environment and challenges. Sharing of best practices to achieve goals.
- Bring together Teams of Teams and orchestration of teams.
- Implement effective governance, escalation, and reporting.
- Senior stakeholder management.
As your career in Shell progresses, you will be exposed to opportunities both across our diverse lines of business and in our business IT and enterprise IT functions, as well as progressively more challenging assignments that develop your capabilities
What we need from you
The core competences required for this role are:
- Experience of working with multiple lean and Agile frameworks and scaled Agile frameworks
- Extensive experience of working in Agile environments
- Mentoring and coaching skills & experience, online and F2F (Face-to-Face)
- Ability to work with strong stakeholders and demonstrate strength and certainty to them, helping them to achieve goals
- Experience of establishing new teams and big room planning
- Ability to orchestrate multiple teams and establish governance
- Prior experience of working with Azure DevOps Boards as this is our preferred method of sharing work information (tooling experience principles may apply across other delivery products)
Key Skills
- Lean Agile Practices: Ability to learn and deeply understand broad Lean and Agile principles. This includes Lean and Agile values, principles, methods, or frameworks (including but not limited to Scrum, Kanban, XP), as well as practices enabling appropriate application and innovation.
- Agile Facilitation: Ability to be a neutral process holder that guides the individual’s, team’s, or organization’s process of discovery, holding to their purpose, and definition of success
- Agile Mentoring: Ability to impart one’s experience, knowledge and guidance to help grow another person, team, or organization in the same or similar knowledge domains.
- Agile Teaching: Ability to offer the right knowledge, at the right time, taught in the right way, so that individuals, teams and organizations metabolize the knowledge for their best benefit.
- Agile Coaching: Ability to evaluate where people, teams, and organizations are in their Agile journey and offer the right approach to support growth. Professional coaching by asking the right questions, providing advice, challenging people in their thinking and guide them to identify their own solutions to problems. Build high performing programs by helping them embrace agility as a culture shift.
- Enterprise Agile Transformation: Ability to facilitate and catalyze organizational change and transformation to improve their ability to respond to change. This area draws on knowledge and experience of change management, organization culture, organization development, systems thinking, and other behavioral sciences.
- Agile Business Productization: Ability to apply business strategy and management frameworks to employ agile as a competitive business advantage to help organizations move further toward productization, including services. This includes Lean Start-Up, Business model canvas, product innovation techniques, flow-based business process management approaches, and other techniques that relate to innovating in the business domain
- Agile Technical Craftsmanship: Ability to practice and lead elements of end-to-end delivery of a product or service. This includes, but not limited to, ideation, design, development, testing, continuous integration and deployment, DevOps. Ability to understand and properly utilize market standard tools used in the Agile space.

Qualifications:

- ICAgile Coaching Agile Transitions certification
- ICAgile Agile Coaching and/or Team Facilitation certification
- Scrum Master, Product Owner and/or Kanban certification
- PMP or equivalent project management certification
