Name of role: Agile Business Analyst– Agile Centre of Excellence
Reports to: Head of Function – Agile Centre of Excellence
Location: (US (United States), UK (United Kingdom))
The Agile Business Analyst is an advocate of Agile ways of working, evangelising user stories and performing a key role within the Agile squads.
The candidate will bring the skills required to train and assist with the development of the team including product / service owners, you will ensure business opportunities are captured, producing user stories, and working with the engineers to define technical solutions.
In performing this key role, you will need to work with product owners, business stakeholders and engineers to ensure requirements and clearly understood, and where required take traditional requirement sets translating into user stories.
The role will require you to work, inform and influence a range of stakeholders across the engineering and business communities, identifying opportunities for improvement, challenging the status-quo. You will form part of the Engineering community within the Digital Workplace Services division reporting into the Head of Function – Agile Centre of Excellence.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Responsible for the inception phase, defining journeys and features
- Assisting in the prioritisation of user stories
- Responsible for translating business change into infrastructure-based stories
- Act as a crucial point of contact in relation to stakeholders and engineers
- Provide transparency of demand, committed workload and prioritisation.
- Evangelising Agile ways of working, developing squads and driving improvements
- Practice continuous learning through attending company and/or industry training.
- Harvest a culture of curiosity and challenge across the engineering community
Skills and Abilities:
- Experience of Agile ways or working within an Infrastructure community
- Knowledge of Agile frameworks (Kanban, Scrum etc)
- Ability to identify additional business value & opportunities
- Experience of developing product owners (e.g., refining backlogs, prioritisation)
- Situational awareness, and strong emotional intelligence
- Ability to foster a safe environment where challenges are openly shared
- Drive adoption and consistent usage of Agile tooling (Jira, Confluence, DevOps)

- Organization skills to balance and prioritize work and multitask
- Ability to leverage Agile tooling to optimise the squad(s)
- Experience of holding interviews and translating business objectives
