Located on the Lancashire coast, with Preston, Blackpool and the Lake District nearby, Wyre is an area of great contrast and includes urban areas, seaside resorts, a port, traditional market towns and picturesque villages within an extensive rural area that includes part of the Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
We are looking to recruit a full time Affordable Housing Delivery Officer with demonstrable experience in planning or in social housing development to join our Planning Policy team. Educated to degree level or equivalent work experience, the successful candidate will have previous experience of working with registered providers and/or house builders to deliver affordable housing and will be required to deliver a quality service to our customers.
The post holder will have the opportunity to play a key role in delivering a range of affordable housing in the area. With extensive experience of working in planning or in a social housing environment for either a local authority, registered provider or equivalent, the successful candidate will have a good knowledge of affordable housing development within either the public or private sectors.
The successful candidate will have a sound knowledge and understanding of current planning legislation and policy relating to housing, the housebuilding sector, and local government issues related to planning as well as a clear understanding of the relationship between corporate priorities and the delivery of the service.
