Job description
Reporting into an Account Director, with ultimate responsibility to the VP, Ad Sales, the Account Manager is responsible for generating advertising revenue from specified advertising sectors and the day-to-day management of client accounts.
The Account Manager works on media and branded content pitches, liaising with key stakeholders internally and externally. They will be selling to London and Western European agencies and clients to generate revenue on BBC.com, BBC World Service and BBC World News for pan-regional digital and TV campaigns.
Main ResponsibilitiesRevenue Generation
- Under the guidance of the Account Director, the AM will respond to advertising briefs from clients, and develop bespoke advertising solutions which fit the brief.
- Presenting, and representing the BBC to media agencies.
- Managing branded content pitches
- Ensuring SalesForce is up to date.
- Work alongside the Sales Planner to identify relevant opportunities for clients.
- Develop a reputation among clients as a specialist in delivering global media solutions.
Forecasting
- Deliver weekly and monthly reporting which track against team revenue goals.
- Ensure accuracy of reporting and account for any change in submissions through industry and market intel.
- Identify key trends and shifts in the market and provide intel to wider sales team
- Work together with the Sales Planner to provide regular performance reports for clients and commentary on campaign performance. Where relevant, upsell new solutions.
Client Engagement
- Establish key relationships with decision makers at media agencies.
- Client entertainment and involvement with industry events is expected as part of this role.
Commercial knowledge
- Keep up to date with industry trends, new product developments and the competition.
Knowledge
- Media Industry and platforms.
- Digital and TV products and solutions.
- Branded Content
- Knowledge of GAM an advantage but not necessary
- Numerate & IT literate
- Troubleshooting tools and techniques.
- Aware of socio-economic factors which would positively/negatively impact on core business.

Experience
- Experience as an Account Manager, or Senior Sales Exec.
- Demonstrable ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
