This is an exciting opportunity for an Analyst to join an enthusiastic team supporting the Advanced Chemistry and Research department in our Environmental Science Sector, within the UK’s number one supplier of testing, inspection and compliance services.
The Advanced Chemistry and Research department offers analysis to a wide range of different industries and professions. Our analysis is undertaken to provide information for personal health and environmental concerns, as well as helping to ensure quality in various manufacturing sectors. We have a long history of developing bespoke methods to meet customers’ requirements or to carry out chemical investigations to help understand unknown materials.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced metals analyst to join our team at SOCOTEC Advanced Chemistry & Research. The successful candidate will be responsible for the analysis of a wide range of samples for metal content using a variety of analytical techniques.
As a metals analyst at SOCOTEC, you will be responsible for sample preparation, instrument calibration, and the analysis of samples using techniques including ICP-MS and ICP-OES. You will also be responsible for the interpretation of data and the preparation of reports for clients.
We are looking for an analyst to join our Environmental Science Division, who will:
Be able to perform analytical duties without supervision to the required productivity and quality specifications after receiving full training.- Maintain good laboratory practice at all times, following methods, standard operating procedures, local rules and regulations, maintain equipment and safe working procedures.
- Be aware of and conform to the Laboratory Quality system, specifically UKAS (ISO17025) and MCERTS requirements.
- Project a professional, courteous image and support the business culture and codes of practice at all times.
