Job description
Department: Children’s Services
Terms and Conditions: 37 hours per week, Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2024
Shortlisting date: w/c 24th April 2023
Interview date: w/c 1st May 2023
The SEEDS is a small residential home based in Blackburn that works with young people that are supported by Child Protection and Child in Need plans. This team works directly with families and young people to prevent family breakdowns by offering an outreach support and short breaks service.
The focus of The SEEDS is providing families of the borough with the right skills and behaviours they need to improve their family dynamics. Our service is highly rated by our service users and families, and we are rated Good by Ofsted.
In this role, you will work directly with young people and their families, organising short breaks and facilitating group and 1:1 sessions with the aim to plan exit strategies from The SEEDS and signpost young people and families to other relevant support services.
The successful candidate will be required to effectively record accurate case notes, create individual targets in line with Smart Plans, update paperwork within timescales, and produce analytical reports for Child In Need Reviews and Child Protection/LAC meetings and reviews.
This role is integral to The SEEDS provision and the wider Children’s Services so we are looking to recruit someone who is highly motivated, passionate, caring and enthusiastic about providing the best support for the children and families of Blackburn and Darwen.
At times the role involves dealing with crisis interventions, outreach, and support, which may arise at unsociable hours and necessitate flexible working and on occasion you may also be required to sleep-in, work nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
