Job description
Academic Operations
The role
We are seeking to appoint two additional Admissions Officers to join a small but growing team that are responsible for providing an efficient and customer-focused admissions service to both home and international applicants. The admissions team look after applicants from the point of application right through to enrolment and play a critical role in delivering an excellent impression and experience to prospective Ravensbourne students. The university is aiming to grow significantly (particularly in international student numbers) and this role is critical in delivering this.
The team will consist of 5 admissions officers reporting to the Admissions Manager. As an Admissions Officer the role holder will be required to manage and process applications to study across a diverse portfolio of courses at Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Further Education levels. You’ll be evaluating and verifying academic qualifications and making offers to applicants in line with our entry requirements, as well as managing the interview and portfolio assessment processes in conjunction with academic colleagues. The Admissions Officer role at Ravensbourne is a broad role, and as well as the above includes CAS issuance, responding to enquiries and more. If you’re keen to get involved across the entire admissions journey and have a recruitment/conversion focussed approach to admissions – then we’d love to hear from you.
The candidate
Ideally the successful applicant will have prior experience in working in an admissions environment in a Higher Education setting, and a solid understanding of the types of qualifications that our applicants are likely to use for entry to our courses. Experience in the processing of international applications (including CAS issuance) would be advantageous, or the willingness and ability to learn this.
Experience of delivering against key performance indicators is essential, as is the ability to plan and manage your workload in order to balance a range of competing priorities. Prior experience of using the SITS system would be desirable, however any prior use of university student records systems would be advantageous.
You’ll be aware of how critical an effective admissions process is to a university’s recruitment aims and be keen to work alongside recruitment colleagues at University Open Days, Q&A’s and other prospect and applicant events. You’ll also be aware of current issues within HE and/or FE or be able to learn and engage with the sector once you’re in the role. We’re looking for people who enjoy thinking creatively about processes and can suggest/identify potential improvements that benefit our applicants.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and communities, and in particular those that are currently under-represented in our workforce. This includes, but is not limited to, Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic candidates, candidates with disabilities, and female candidates.
