Position Summary
The Admissions Assistant provides comprehensive customer service via telephone, email, online and in-person. The Admissions Assistant regularly communicates with prospective students to provide information on the next steps in the enrollment process and answer questions the student may have about the community college or enrollment process. The Admissions Assistant will call prospective students to provide their next step in the enrollment process and answer questions asked by the student. This position requires initial contact and follow-up through enrollment. The goal is to convert applicants to enrollments.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Make phone calls to prospective students to inform them of the next steps in the enrollment process. Take detailed notes on each phone call in Ellucian Recruit to provide other staff members who speak with the student know what was previously said.
Respond to emails from prospective students providing detailed and comprehensive answers.
Provide tours of campus to prospective students and their families when necessary.
Update and correct data in the Ellucian Recruit applicant record based on phone or email conversations with prospective students.
Participate in a plan of professional development in order to stay current regarding best practices for the profession, and to have an understanding of current academic and career program offerings, requirements, and school policies. Maintain positive professional networks for positive outcomes during conflict resolution and troubleshooting.
Service to College: Serve on committees as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Associate's degree or higher
Minimum of six months of relevant experience
Strong customer service skills are required. Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with students, faculty, administrators, government agencies, business/industry representatives, community organizations, and the general public.
Ability to work in a structured setting, with established goals, procedures, and policies.
Problem-solving abilities and conflict-resolution skills.
