- JOB TITLE: VAT Team Administrator
- SALARY: £23,370.00
- LOCATION: Edinburgh
- HOURS: Full-time 35hrs pw
- WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.
About this Opportunity
As an Administrator within the VAT team, you’ll be responsible for preparing quarterly VAT returns for commercial property held within pension schemes, handling a range of customer enquiries, and a variety of associated admin tasks. You'll be hard-working with a great attention to detail and a fantastic attitude towards your customers with a desire to do the right thing for them.

- Ensuring all VAT accounting entries, payments and reconciliations are completed in a timely fashion and ensuring relevant payment method set up for each scheme.
- Involvement in management of emails on VAT queries from the business and external clients, logging receipt and informing managers promptly of any issues or vital actions.
- Helping in dealing with VAT compliance queries and providing basic advice.
- Gathering information to enable internal queries and queries from HM Revenue and Customs to be answered.

What you’ll need
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Accuracy, time management and ability to meet statutory deadlines.
- Active participation in training initiatives and taking ownership of self-development.
- Initiative and good communication skills with ability to form effective working relationships with colleagues in all parts of the Group and with HM Revenue and Customs.
- Relevant experience from a previous VAT admin role desirable but support will be provided.
And any experience of these would be really useful
- Knowledge of property VAT.
