Humanities
The School of Humanities administration team provides high quality support to academic staff, postgraduate research students and the wider School. We are seeking a proactive and self-motivated team member to join our Marketing and Events team who is as committed to the smooth and efficient running on the School as we are.
Your role will include:
- Working across all online media to promote the School.
- Assist in organising events and field trip work, including booking venues, rooms, accommodation, transport and catering.
- Monitoring event budgets and ensuring post event finance is accurately reconciled.
- Working collaboratively with other teams in the School Management and Research Office (SMRO) and supporting senior management within the School.
You will have:
- A flexible and proactive approach to resolving problems and answering queries quickly and effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure and to prioritise workload in response to differing needs and deadlines.
- Experience of dealing with Marketing and Events and excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Relevant experience of finance systems and working within budgets.
- Demonstrable evidence of computing skills including Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive).
- Excellent customer service skills and be an enthusiastic team player.
- GCSE Maths and English grade C or above (or equivalent) and relevant experience in an office/administrative environment or considerable relevant administrative experience in a related role(s) at a level that has required minimum supervision.

This post will be offered on a permanent basis. Hours are full-time (36.25 hours per week), commencing 1 July 2023 or as soon thereafter. Job share arrangements may be considered.
