The Role
We have an excellent opportunity for an Administrator (Medical Writing Coordinator) within our Medical Writing department, based in Edinburgh.
Working as part of the team, the Medical Writing Coordinator will be responsible for:
- Providing general administrative support to the medical writing department and other departments based at the Edinburgh Office
- Liaising with other Quotient departments at other sites eg Facilities, IT, HR/Training and QA
- Assisting in the publication of clinical study reports (eg collating appendices, hyperlinking and creating pdf versions of the reports)
- Assisting the Medical Writing staff by performing quality control tasks
This position will report to our Medical Writing Coordination Team Leader. The role also involves working closely with other staff in our Medical Writing department, other departments based at the Edinburgh site and support staff from Facilities, IT, HR/Training and QA.
Full training will be provided in administration and medical writing publishing and quality control processes and techniques. Dependent on your development, our career pathway allows you to expand your skills over time and progress to more senior roles and tasks.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will have experience within some form of administration/support role; experience working in a scientific environment would be an advantage but not essential (e.g. working for a research company, laboratory, academic institution, NHS etc.). Candidates must also be numerate with an eye for detail but there is no requirement for a degree.
Other essential skills and experience required are:
- Proficient Microsoft office skills including Word and Excel
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines whilst maintaining quality standards
- Attention to detail and the ability to multitask are essential
- Effective oral and written communication skills
Applicants must have the right to work in the UK at the time of being offered employment. The role will be based in our Edinburgh office and can be full time or part-time over 5 days (Monday to Friday).
