Job description
If you’re naturally helpful and well organised, we’re looking for an Administrator to provide secretarial support to the three Heads of Service in our Library Leadership Team. You’ll need experience of secretarial support to individual people and we’re pretty much paperless so you’ll need to be able to use MS Office, including Outlook, Teams and Excel every day.
You’ll mainly be arranging meetings, processing financial transactions, minuting meetings, and helping with recruitment, so you’ll need attention to detail and an ability to build good working relationships right from the start.
You’ll gain lots of different experience from working in a large Higher Education organisation. In a small admin team of two, working alongside a PA, you’ll be spending two days a week at each of our campuses in the bustling City Centre and on the beautiful Headingley campus (the final one you can choose to work from home).
The Library is a large and friendly department with over 120 colleagues. As well as the Library services you’d expect to see, such as books on shelves, we’re responsible for Student IT Advice, developing students’ academic skills, the Virtual Learning Environment, e-books and much more.
If you think you fit the bill, please apply by sending us your CV and completing the application form. You must also add a supporting statement that tell us in no more than 2 sides how you meet the criteria in the Employee Specification.
Closing date: 13th March 2023 (23:59) Please note that you will not be able to edit or submit a part-completed application form after the closing date.
Working here means you’ll also have access to a wide range of benefits including our generous pension schemes, excellent holiday entitlements, flexible working, reduced study fees, subsidised fitness facilities and a lot more.
We welcome applications from all individuals and particularly from black and minority ethnic candidates as members of these groups are currently under-represented at this level of post. All appointments will be based on merit.
