PROFILE
Over the last couple of years our Remedi Nottinghamshire youth team has been expanding. This is an exciting opportunity to join an exciting, innovative, and dedicated team working within Nottinghamshire Youth Justice service.
The role will be based within Nottinghamshire youth justice service and involve home working. You will be the central point of contact for reparation & panel referrals across Nottinghamshire youth justice service and will involve:
- Undertaking direct correspondence with service users when required.
- You will need to organize panels at initial, review and final stages, liaising with case managers within the YJS to ascertain their young peoples’ availability and finding volunteers to run panels.
- We are looking for an individual who will motivate our volunteers (who facilitate the panels), build strong relationships with all involved and assist the team manager with recruitment and training of new volunteers, positively promoting the service.
- Liaising with Nottinghamshire youth justice service to access the relevant information, always adhering to GDPR policies and procedures.
- Receiving, triaging, inputting, and allocating referrals, complying with all Remedi and partner agency case recording systems ensuring they are kept up to date and are accurate.
- Providing administrative support to the wider team, both individually and attendance at internal and external meetings to produce accurate minutes and actions.
- Providing the Remedi Manager with statistical information and producing reports when requested.
- You will be required to undertake any other task, commensurate with the position, as identified by the local Remedi Manager
The skills and qualities you will need to do the job well are:
Communication– Good communication skills with people is an essential part of this role. You will need to listen to the young people and their families that we work with and respond to their needs. You will need to provide information to youth justice officers and understand the process and principles of the ‘Making it right’ referral order panels. In addition, you will need to work alongside colleagues in the youth justice service, keeping them updated on the progress/ outcome of the panel and a young persons reparation.
Flexibility–Working in this role requires a flexible approach, there will be occasions when panel meetings are booked in the evenings and training of new recruits is often weekends or evenings. there will be some degree of flexibility regarding working hours which will be agreed with the Remedi Manager to ensure the needs of the service are being met.
Motivation– You will have to work from your own initiative and make judgements that consider the needs of the people you are working with, your own workload and the specific contract requirements. You will have a Remedi manager and other Remedi colleagues based with you (undertaking different roles) to support each other along with youth justice service colleagues that will be there to offer guidance if needed.
IT Capable – it is essential that you are proficient in using:
- Electronic calendars
- Word
- Excel
- MS Teams/Zoom
You will also be trained in case management systems. Recording is vital in showcasing the great work you will be doing and is often a contract requirement. You will need to produce accurate written reports in a professional manner and submit these in a timely fashion on to the relevant case management system.

WHAT TO EXPECT
The role is based in Nottinghamshire, but you will be asked to travel to other areas in which Remedi operate for training and staff development purposes. Expenses are covered.
- Your role will be primarily home working within 9.30 and 4.30, and flexible working is available, however you will be required to be available to attend meetings / training which are in person.

· Starting salary £18,965 (Actual £13,546) rising to £19,565 (Actual £13,975) at the end of Year 2 in role
