G Sait Ltd was originally founded approximately 50 years ago. We are a friendly, busy, family-run business operating as a scrap metal merchant. We buy and process scrap material in preparation for sales to foundries, traders and export companies. Good customer service is of paramount importance to us.
Role Description
The role requires a trustworthy, customer friendly, data oriented, adaptable individual whose main duties include the undertaking of a variety of bookkeeping responsibilities using our IRIS accounting system.
Working as a member of a small team, the role holder will focus on accuracy, productivity and customer service, to a high standard. In addition, the role holder will perform several administrative tasks including document filing (both hard and soft copy), maintaining accurate and up to date records and providing support to the MD and office manager.
Role Definition
Key Activities
- Entering sales and purchase Invoices using Iris accounts system
-Make payments through company bank/accounts package
-Bank reconciliation
- Liaising with customers in person and suppliers and customers via phone and email regarding account and payment status, excellent email and phone communications
- Company transport: receive, create and manage transport orders, up-date spreadsheets and liaise with drivers
- Petty Cash administration
- Company Credit Card transactions.
- Assist with any other ad-hock tasks\As required prepare / maintain reports and complete related ad-hoc tasks
- General office support / Participate in non-finance activities and willing to take in-bound phone calls etc. as part of the general team culture of the company
Specific Requirements / Experience
- Bookkeeping experience
- Experience of IRIS accounting system preferred but not necessary
- The role requires an individual who is well organised and works well with structure and process and has the ability to create administrative structure if required
- The role requires an individual with a positive outgoing personality and a clear sense of customer service that represents G. Sait Ltd in a positive and professional way
- The role requires an individual that presents themselves well with good communication skills (both verbal and written)
- The ability to deal with many people during the working day in a busy office environment whilst maintaining a calm and professional composure is paramount
- The ability to work professionally and be able to be assertive when appropriate with 3rd parties (customers and suppliers)
- Competence with Microsoft office including Word and Excel is required
- An ability to use your own initiative, self-directed, motivated can-do attitude
- Evidence of administration and customer service roles are preferred but not essential
Employment Terms
- Monday to Friday and every other Saturday morning. 39 hours per week plus over-time available.
