Job Description
The Administrative Assistant provides accounting, clerical, and administrative support for WVTF Public Radio/RADIO IQ. The primary responsibilities include assisting with processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, maintaining donor database, and supporting department heads as needed and requested. Additional responsibilities include answering phone calls, having two-way communication with donors, attending to donor needs, scheduling volunteers, greeting visitors, and initiating mailings. Overall, the Administrative Assistant will help manage needs that arise during day-to-day operation, and work independently to solve problems and address challenges as necessary.
This position requires proficiency with Microsoft Office, the ability to learn donor database and banking software applications, and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying policies and procedures to complete specific tasks
- Demonstrated experience working in a professional office environment
- Demonstrated experience with credit card processing, remote check depositing, and other banking transactions
- Demonstrated experience with customer service
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with WVTF Public Radio/RADIO IQ and broadcast coverage area
- Experience working for a state university or non-profit organization
