Purpose of Position:
To provide administrative program and office management support to the department chairperson with support to both full-time and adjunct faculty
Job Duties:
Prepares office correspondence, forms, and reports for departmental chair and faculty in accurate and timely fashion.
Monitors budget and compiles reports; uses Banner and eVA to place requests for services, supplies, and equipment; maintains records of expenditures.
Coordinates departmental programs and activities, ensuring faculty access to office space, Banner, and Blackboard; facilitates onboarding of new faculty; orders materials and supplies efficiently.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required for Entry:
This position requires strong interpersonal, communication, clerical, and organizational skills.
Mental/Sensory demands: memory, reading, reasoning, logical analyzing, hearing, written and verbal communication (essential).
Emotional demands: fast paced activity, frequent change, intense customer interaction (essential).
Physical demands/activities: light lifting, sitting, and walking (essential); standing, lifting, reaching, bending, climbing, repetitive motion (marginal).

Familiarity with the VSU administrative bureaucracy; its forms, norms, and processes; and the broader campus culture a big plus.
Previous experience using Banner and Blackboard.
