Job Status: Non-exempt
Position Summary:
The Administrative Assistant to the Dean supports the Dean and Department Chairs in residential and online programs, and the public outreach activities of the College of Education with focus on the Gideon Institute, Counseling, and Psychology.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with program administration, including course schedules, faculty support, student engagement, and office reception
- Support the preparation for advisory board meetings, potential donor meetings, and fundraising events
- Help with organization, publicity, implementation, and oversight of Gideon conferences, seminars, and therapist trainings
- Work with relevant HCU personnel and external firms on advertising and publicity for the Gideon programs and COEBS Social Media
- Build email databases of 1) local pastors, therapists, churches, institutions, and interested laypersons; and 2) persons interested in Christian psychology and counseling, nationally and internationally
- Assist with weekly emails and quarterly newsletters
- Add new material regularly to the Gideon Institute website
- Assist the director and faculty members with event planning, meetings with community leaders
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred)
- At least one year of professional experience preferred
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skill
- Knowledge of basic office software
- Ability to learn new tasks quickly
- Be available for some night and weekend programming
- Work to further the University’s mission
