Essential Functions
The University of Texas Permian Basin’s College of Education welcomes applications for an Administrative Assistant I to serve in the College’s Office of Educator Program Services and as general clerical support for the College. The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support service to Educator Program Services’ staff, assist faculty and students, welcome visitors to the office, and direct inquiries to the appropriate faculty and staff.

  • Perform day-to-day clerical and administrative functions in support of the Office of Educator Preparation Services with a high degree of efficiency. This includes, but is not limited to, record keeping, filing, database management, appointment setting, preparation of reports, making copies, and receptionist duties.
  • Screen office calls, visitors, and mail.
  • Assist faculty, other staff, and students with routine requests.
  • Provide basic clerical support to other staff within the office and to students needing assistance.
  • Accurately maintain student records, including the ability to protect confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Assist with the scheduling, planning, and staging of meetings College events.
  • Ensure that all required supplies and materials are available as needed and that equipment is in good working order.
  • Answer special requests and solve problems while routing to other staff and leadership when appropriate.
  • Serve as a back-up to other college offices when needed, including assistance with travel arrangements, purchasing, and other related tasks.
  • Assist academic leaders (dean, associate dean, chairs, program coordinators) with preparing reports or other tasks.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and commitment to team work.

Required Qualifications
1. High School Diploma or GED.
2. One (1) year of customer service experience in an administrative setting
3. Working knowledge of Microsoft word, excel, & outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Associates Degree
2. Two (2) years of customer service experience in an administrative setting
