An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Department of Computer Science for someone with a passion for customer service and supporting students and staff to use their administrative skills in this role and to have a positive impact on the experience of students and staff in our department.
Working closely with the PA to the Head of Department, you will undertake a range of tasks to support staff recruitment. The Department of Computer Science is a large department and is undergoing a period of sustained growth in staff and student numbers. You will provide administrative support for our staff recruitment activity, including preparing recruitment documentation, supporting scheduling of recruitment activity, communicating with candidates, and entering information onto the e-recruitment system. You will also support the processes of shortlisting and interviewing candidates and will also carry out administrative tasks relating to new staff induction. In addition to these recruitment-related tasks, you will provide general assistance and administrative support for a range of other activities in this busy department including organising events, administrative procedures relating to visiting staff and updating the department handbook.
You will be educated to at least A-level standard (or possess equivalent experience) and will already have worked in a busy office environment. You will be a confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, comfortable working both independently and collaboratively and using your own initiative to make decisions and solve problems. You must demonstrate both a flexible approach to work and a commitment to maintaining our positive, supportive and inclusive working environment.
