The role
We are looking to appoint a part-time (23 hours per week) Senior Administrator to join Disability Services.
The Senior Administrator has oversight of a number of areas of administrative work to ensure that disabled students at the University have the support they need to thrive and succeed. The Senior Administrator will be solution focused with the ability to constantly improve the service, adopting a flexible approach to delivering work objectives in a collaborative way.
They also manage the delivery of a welcoming and professional service, supporting the Administrators in responding to enquiries from students, their parents/carers, University staff and external stakeholders.
What will you be doing?
The Senior Administrator supervises the daily operations of the team of Administrators, providing support and guidance for them to carry out their duties and as the first line response for students and third parties contacting the service via telephone, email, and in-person.
You will ensure that students receive excellent customer service in these interactions and support the Administrators with any issues which need escalation, providing guidance and pastoral care to our students where required.
You are responsible for a number of day-to-day administrative processes in the service, including coordinating tasks for other members of the team.
The Senior Administrator will work closely with the Administration and Support Manager to develop and improve our processes and induction programmes, and solve problems related to administrative work as they arise. This will involve a large focus on continuous improvement with the implementation and use of Microsoft Dynamics, a Customer Relationships Management (CRM) system that the service started using for student case management in May 2022.
You should apply if
- You have experience of working in busy administrative roles and strong planning and organisation skills, which you have used to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines.
- You have excellent IT skills including the use of Microsoft Office suite of applications, including Microsoft Dynamics, email, web and general office systems, and the ability to quickly learn new systems. Previous experience of working as a team’s Dynamics Superuser or in a tech/IT-support role is desirable.
- You will also have experience of working in a customer service setting, and the ability to be able to communicate confidently and effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

Salary: £28,929 - £32,411 per annum
