Job description

The role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual who wants to make a difference to external engagement and student life in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, University of Bristol. You will be part of the Faculty Professional Liaison Network (PLN) that manages the Faculty’s external connections, running a series subject-specific educational enhancement initiatives including mentoring, internships, in-curriculum placements and projects, and events and engaging students and staff with relevant external organisations.

This is an exciting new role due to an expansion in PLN team activities.

What will you be doing?

The role will have sole responsibility for planning, organising and delivering a subset of activity for the department, as well as working collaboratively and flexibly with the other team members, and deputising for the Professional Liaison Officer as necessary. This will involve taking responsibility for gaining student projects for MSc and BSc Business Analytics programmes (from charities and small businesses to large government and other organisations), ensuring active engagement from all. We connect Social Sciences and Law students and staff with external organisations related to their academic disciplines, running a range of mutually beneficial initiatives and partnerships.

You should apply if

The role will be very varied, including stakeholder management (internally and externally), events planning and delivery, contacts management, scheme planning and delivery, and project management. You will need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as administrative experience. Above all, we are looking for someone who can make a positive and proactive contribution – this is a fast-moving area and we are looking for someone with ideas they want to input.

Work pattern: Full-time, 35 hours per week

Grade/Salary: G £28,929-£32,411 per annum
