About the Job
The Riley Firm is a boutique Family Law Firm, catering to professionals and business owners. Our firm is growing quickly and we are looking for full-time Legal Assistant/Family Law Clerk.
Education
Law Clerk Diploma or Legal Administration Certificate an asset
The Successful Candidate Will Have the Following Qualifications and/or Requirements
· Excellent customer/client service skills;
· Proficient in written in oral communication;
· Excellent time-management skills;
· Organized with careful attention to detail and accuracy;
· Strong communication skills;
· Self-driven and able to work well independently;
· A strong team player;
· Ability to correspond professionally and effectively with clients and staff;
· Knowledge of Family Law Rules and service and filing procedures.
- Professional and dependable with a strict adherence to client confidentiality;
· Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook Calendar and Email, Zoom integration and Word). Experience using CLIO an asset.
Salary and Compensation
· Starting at $50,000.00.
Job Requirements:
· Assisting lawyers and law clerks in preparing and organizing court documents using Adobe;
- Service and e-filing documents via OneKey;
· Preparing and sending routine correspondence;
- Drafting of Applications, Answers, Affidavits, motion materials and separation agreements;
· Communicating with clients;
· Corresponding with clients and staff regarding new files and connecting new clients with the Lawyer/Law Clerk assigned to the file via Email;
· Creating and organizing electronic files in OneDrive;
· Assisting the lawyers with electronic filing of documents in OneDrive client folders;
· Occasional scanning and e-filing of documents provided by clients in hard-copy.
