Job description
The Department of Physics, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks an Administrative Assistant to join our team. This position provides fiscal and administrative support for the Department of Physics; serves as the liaison and fiscal support for business, teaching, and research functions for a group of physics faculty members, post-doctoral researchers, research associates, graduate and undergraduate students, and visitors; generates reports and monitors faculty account balances to ensure individual projects and budgets are within spending limits and within compliance; arranges and processes purchasing, travel, reimbursements, payments, personnel requests, and other related transactions; serves as p-card manager; monitors, investigates, and resolves fiscal/transactional issues for assigned group; reconciles monthly transactions in collaboration with the business operations team; consults with department grant specialists, grad studies, and HR as needed; supports operational needs of the department as needed including mail and package distribution, supporting events, arranging logistics, preparing and distributing event materials, updating website information, maintaining listservs, assisting with asset management, and assisting with administrative staff and student training; provides backup support for other administrative staff when needed and serves in a back-up capacity to perform other reasonable duties as assigned; this position serves as part of a team to support college and department business operations and must be team and customer service oriented.
Qualifications:
Required: High School diploma or GED with 2 years of administrative experience is required.
Desired: An Associate’s Degree is desired. Prior experience in office/business management, Workday, Microsoft Office and knowledge of University policies and procedures desired.

The pay range for this job profile is $20.53-$27.36. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
