Overview:
Pay: £11.98 per hour - which equates to a full-time salary of £23, 357.94 p.a
This is made up of a basic rate of £10.64 per hour plus a monthly allowance of up to £217.75
Swissport Western Europe are looking for enthusiastic team members to join our Cargo Operation. You will be providing clerical support to the cargo function, including supporting and organsing customs clearance, cash invoicing, basic reception duties and occasional support to other areas in the warehouse.
Responsibilities:Day to day you will be responsible for:
- Basic Customs Clearance Process
- Cash Invoicing
- Acceptance of high value goods such as radioactive goods, live animals or dangerous cargo.
- Reception duties including but not limited to greeting clients and visitors, answering telephone queries, sorting post, filing etc.
- Comply with all relevant legislation as well as airport authority and carrier security requirements
- Comply with Swissport Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
- Operate any necessary machinery
- Additional warehouse duties as required
To be succesful in this role you will need to be or have:
- In possession of at least three GCSE’s or equivalent
- Flexible to work a variety of shifts (days, evening, nights, weekends, and public holidays)
- Ability to speak and understand the English language
- Ability to travel to the airport at times where public transport is not available
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Must be IT literate and able to learn airline specific computer systems
- Ability to follow processes and procedures and apply flexible approach when required
- Willingness to work in inclement weather if required
- Able to demonstrate good customer service
- Commitment to continuous improvement
- Self motivated and able to work independently
- Previous experience working in an aviation environment is desired
