Job description
Under general supervision, responsible for processing applications for the Medical and Podiatry Boards. Provides administrative support services to the Medical and Podiatry Boards as assigned.
Processes medical and podiatry license applications-[Initial and Reactivation] received by mail, online application, or from walk-in customers.
Reviews documents for completeness and accuracy; updates database and processes licenses using established laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines. Issues renewed licenses within established time frames. Notifies the Board Administrator of any non-routine licensing application.
Responds to telephone, email, and in-person requests related to the medical and podiatry licensing programs. Provides information concerning licensing procedures, requirements, and qualifications. Assists in working with board and committee members and in coordinating board and committee meetings. Prepares and administers materials for application review by board members and for application hearings at board meetings.
Provides accurate information in response to telephone, fax, email, and mail inquiries related to Medical and Podiatry Board programs, laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Prepares licensing paperwork for imaging.
Performs other duties as requested.
State Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience. Mandatory Requirement: must be able to successfully complete a fingerprint-based background check and be vetted by SLED Criminal Justice Information Services.
Knowledge of principles and practices of office management and general administrative functions; ability to communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing with individuals and must have the ability to provide good customer service skills; ability to exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting and applying policies and procedures with licensees and understand and follow complex instructions; considerable skill in the use of office equipment and personal computers. Knowledge of relevant regulations, policies, and organizational functions. Ability to process meeting notes and minutes.
General supervision.
May be required to lift, carry, move, and position objects weighing up to 25 lbs. This position is in an office environment.
