SDL Sawmills is seeking a Sawmill Administrator to join our team. Keeping up with the admin of the day to day running of the sawmill.
Position Overview: We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Sawmill Administrator. As a vital member of our sawmill operation, you will be responsible for handling the administrative tasks associated with the daily running of our sawmill plant. This includes managing sales invoices, conducting stock checks, handling personnel administration, writing up procedures, and overseeing general paperwork and administrative duties. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining smooth operations and ensuring effective communication across various departments.
Location & Hours
- SDL Sawmills, Croespenmaen Industial Estate, Croespenmaen, Newport NP11 3LS
- 7am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday
Responsibilities:
- Manage sales invoicing process, including generating invoices, verifying accuracy, and maintaining records.
- Conduct regular stock checks to ensure accurate inventory levels and reconcile any discrepancies.
- Assist with personnel administration, including maintaining employee records, coordinating training sessions, and managing time and attendance records.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for various aspects of the sawmill operation to ensure consistency and efficiency (Training and support given).
- Handle general paperwork and administrative tasks, such as filing documents, organizing meetings, and responding to inquiries.
- Collaborate with other team members to facilitate effective communication and ensure the smooth flow of information.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to data protection policies.
- Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned by the management team.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in administrative roles.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Proficient in using computer software and applications, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database systems.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with team members and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Familiarity with personnel administration processes and procedures is an advantage.
- Knowledge of sawmill operations or the forestry industry is a plus but in no way essential.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £11.50-£12.50 per hour
