Outwood Alternative Provision Eston is an innovative alternative provision centre, principally for students from Outwood Academies in the Northern Region who need additional behavioural, social, emotional or mental health support. In line with our absolute commitment to inclusion in its widest sense, this is an alternative provision for vulnerable students who display challenging behaviours and are often at risk of high levels of fixed-period exclusions or permanent exclusion.

We are an inclusive, and caring centre recently judged ‘good’ by Ofsted. At heart, we aim to ensure we best meet the needs of our students. Our centre supports the most vulnerable students including those who have SEND and are disadvantaged. Many of our students experience significant barriers to learning and some have adverse childhood experiences.

Operating much smaller classes than our mainstream academies, this alternative provision focuses on personal development and the health and well being of students, whilst not losing academic rigour. We will focus on ensuring that all students can achieve well and are able to move to their next stage with confidence, be it education, employment or training.

The centre is a collaborative provision between Outwood Academies Acklam, Bishopsgarth, Bydales, Normanby, Ormesby, Redcar and Riverside. The centre will be located on Burns Road, Eston in a modern building with excellent facilities.

When completing your application, please give due regard to the attached Job Description and Person Specification. Please note that all of the essential criteria listed on the Person Specification will be used to shortlist candidates for interview. If you do not demonstrate and or/evidence that you meet all of the essential criteria, you will not be selected for an interview.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss the role please contact Faye Stephenson on [email protected]. We look forward to hearing from you!
