An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Ophthalmology Specialty based at Queens Medical Centre Campus, Nottingham University Hospitals for a Waiting List Administrator.
We are looking for a dedicated, patient focused and highly articulate person who is committed to providing the highest standards of care for our patients ensuring they are added to our surgical waiting lists and allocated surgery dates in line with the 18 week pathway.
You will work closely with all members of the Ophthalmology team including the management team and clinicians, contributing to the development of a highly skilled workforce.

Working in a busy office the post holder will be required to work to tight deadlines under minimal supervision. This role is part of a larger team all working towards booking patients for surgery within the 18 week target.

Updating patient information to aid booking process
Assisting Waiting List Co-ordinators and line managers as required.

Managing waiting lists as allocated in line with the Trust Waiting List Management Policy and the Patient Access Policy.
Using Medway PAS, NotIS, ERS and DHR information systems to add patients to the surgical waiting list.
Updating the waiting list information at all contact points to allow correct allocation to a surgical list in a timely manner.
Booking surgery dates with patients via telephone and letter.
Providing feedback on patients to the Management team including information on the current status, delays and actions required.
Attending theatre scheduling and patient tracking meeting.
Work with the Service Manager and Deputy Service Manager to maximise theatre utilisation.
Escalate problems which might result in significant delays and breaching the 18 Week RTT target.
Be able to apply the Patient Access Policy to ensure patients are contacted appropriately.
To undertake other specialty specific duties in accordance with Trust policies and procedures to facilitate the patient pathway in liaison with the Service.
To support the Waiting List Co-ordinator's and deputise as appropriate and needed.
Share responsibility with line manager for own personal development.
