Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Cardiology Clerical team due to a recent expansion of the Cardiology Department. You will provide front of house reception cover and clerical support to our specialist Cardiology services, including ambulatory services, echocardiogram services and our One Stop Cardiology Clinics. The ability to work as part of a team is essential as are excellent interpersonal and communication skills as the front of house can be extremely busy and very demanding at times. Applicants must be able to work on their own initiative to tight deadlines and have a clear understanding of patient confidentiality. They must have experience of working directly with the public in a clerical /receptionist role, ideally in a health care setting. The ability to multi task is also helpful.
Applicants must be educated to GCSE standard or equivalent including English Language and Maths. NVQ2 Administration or equivalent. Must possess a range of office skills and I.T. skills preferably including experience of hospital administration systems.
To deliver administrative services to the Cardiology Department including booking patient appointments, distributing results and maintaining records thereof and ensuring equipment and work and reception areas used are maintained at the highest standards of hygiene and functionality.
To communicate, as appropriate, with patients, staff and other concerned parties, to ensure best quality service delivery in terms of patient satisfaction, efficiency and effectiveness.
To maintain and develop the knowledge and skills necessary for the post, and to train clinical staff in office procedures as necessary.
