The Role
Your Impact
- Review supplier specifications for both, products and packaging, to ensure accuracy. Obtain updated specifications as required.
- Ensure incoming product COA’s and letters of guarantee are obtained in timely manner.
- Enter and maintain JVF Vendor approval program.
- Complete finished product specifications in an accurate manner.
- Prepare product information (i.e., ingredients, nutrition information to comply with various customer request).
- Create new Nutrition Facts Tables and verify existing ones against supplier specifications or lab test results.
- Upload specification information into various customer specific websites (i.e., Sobeys, Sam’s Club, Costco, Loblaws, Longo’s, etc.)
- Provide PDF files of label artwork to meet various customer requests.
- Review and approves new labels.
- Train and educate production personnel on food safety, allergens, and good manufacturing practices.
- Partner and communicate with Production, Maintenance, Purchasing and other departments on various quality issues.
- Communicate with suppliers all complaints related to their product and monitor corrective actions in a timely manner.
- Assist in investigation of customer complaints.
- Initiate and complete nonconformance reports in a timely manner and maintain an accurate register for all NCRs.
- Actively involved in holding and releasing various products once testing results are obtained. Responsible for maintaining an accurate register of all hold products.
- Conduct internal audits as required and follow up on corrective action.
- Participate in developing and documenting Standard Operating Procedures, Specifications, Quality Control and Processing Procedures.
- Maintain a minimum inventory of all lab chemicals and testing kits.
- Work safely and follow legislated and established safe work procedures and practices.
- Other Duties as assigned in adherence to the JVF GMP policies.
Shift and Location
About You
- You have 1 to 3 years of as a Quality Assurance Admin, preferably in the food industry.
- You have superior communication skills (both written and verbal) and proven experience interacting directly with customers and suppliers/vendors.
- Solid working knowledge of food safety and quality assurance.
- Genuine passion for continuous learning and development
- Excellent collaboration, and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to think strategically, analyze data, and make data-driven decisions.
- University degree or College Diploma in Quality Assurance or in a related field.
