Do you love people? As a Funeral Assistant, you will have a diverse range of responsibilities aimed at providing support and assistance to both clients and the funeral home's management. Your role will involve welcoming and assisting the general public with empathy and professionalism, offering information on funeral and cremation services, packages, pricing, and related topics to help families make well-informed decisions. You will handle incoming phone calls courteously, addressing inquiries, scheduling appointments, and providing general information. During funerals, memorials, and other services or ceremonies, you will support funeral home clients and management as requested, ensuring a calm and compassionate demeanor when interacting with grieving families and friends. Additionally, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and overall presentable appearance of the funeral home, while also handling administrative tasks such as filing paperwork, managing records, and updating databases. Coordinating logistics for funerals and memorial services, offering support and comfort to grieving families, and ensuring compliance with legal and industry standards are also part of your responsibilities. Collaborating with fellow staff members to ensure smooth operations and exceptional customer service is essential, as is staying updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices within the funeral services sector.
Responsibilities:
- The Admin will have a working knowledge of the cemetery and/or funeral center operations, processes, and procedures
- The Funeral Services Assistant's duties must be performed consistent with the company mission and values and adhere to company policies and procedures
- Prepares for services to include delivering and setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos and other personal keepsakes or mementos of client families; ensures proper care and storage of any of these items
- Prepares documents related to services, cremations, and maintenance, as directed by management
- Handle sensitive and confidential information
Qualifications:
- Greet visitors and direct them to the appropriate person or office.
- Answer phones and transfer calls to the appropriate person or voicemail.
- Organize and maintain office files.
- Schedule appointments and meetings as requested.
- Provide general administrative support to staff members.
- Assist with data entry and other clerical tasks.
- Order office supplies as needed.
- Provides office communications support by fielding calls, answering questions, forwarding messages, confirming customer orders, and informing customers of order status.

Full Time: 32 hours/week
Salary: $18-$20 per hour
Schedule: Flexible 9-5, possible early start and late start as needed, Sun- Sat rotation
