There are current vacancies in the Public Works Administration, Public Works Animal Shelter, and Information Technology Services Department. Additionally, the eligibility list established from this recruitment will be used to fill full-time, part-time, limited term and extra help vacancies as they occur over the 12 months. This list will replace any previously established lists.
Public Works Administration - this position is responsible for processing invoices, completing requisitions for goods and services, and assisting with timekeeping for employees who are out in the field and do not have computer access.
Public Works Animal Shelter - this position is responsible for processing the reclaiming of animals and associated fees, and ensuring all animals are current on their vaccinations before leaving the shelter. The position will also complete financial and administrative tasks of processing cash, check, and credit card payments, along with completing daily deposits.
Information Technology Services - this position is responsible for assisting with scanning and indexing documents in support of the county-wide digitization project for paperless documents along with tracking and processing equipment deliveries into departments inventory system. The position also assists team members with clerical tasks such as answering phones, filing, and reviewing employee timecards.
Experience and Education
To qualify for this classification, an individual must possess any combination of experience and education that would likely produce the required knowledge and abilities. A desirable combination is:
Experience:
One year of directly related general clerical experience.
Education:
Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade, including or supplemented by general clerical training.
License or Certificate:
Certain positions assigned to this class may require possession of a valid California Driver's License.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Certain positions may require bilingual (Spanish) speaking skills. If bilingual skills are required, applicants will be required to take and pass a bilingual (Spanish) exam.
