The opportunity
You will provide administrative support to the academic programmes in Cardiff School of Sport and Health Sciences and / or Cardiff School of Education and Social Policy, and where appropriate, with Partner Institutions. The post holder will act as a contact point for both staff and students, will provide accurate programme and module information and work with Programmes on a variety of activities throughout the year. The post holder will also support the work of the Associate Deans of Student Engagement and the Principal / Strategic Leads.
You will be an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience.
As our Programmes Administrator, you will also:
- Assist with all administrative aspects of the induction, welcome, enrolment and allocation of students onto the programmes and groups.
- Assist with the organisation and provide administrative support for the School Examination Boards including post board support and communication with Staff and Students.
- Service committee meetings including the preparation of agenda items, the distribution of documentation, taking minutes and maintaining school documentation.
- Prepare, collect and input accurate data for annual and periodic reports including pertaining to programme results and awards, graduate outcomes, student surveys, examiner reports, evaluations and programme and module documentation. Prepare or input statistics when required.
- Post course materials and information onto the university’s Virtual Learning Environments. Make effective use of the university IT systems including the sharepoint document repository and student system database.
- Provide a point of contact for students. Foster and ensure good customer care in order to enhance the student experience.
- Devise, implement, improve and maintain office systems ensuring that administrative processes comply with University/School procedures and policies. Undertake general administrative duties.
What we are looking for
- Experience of minute taking, agenda setting and provision of responses to management.
- Experience of maintaining effective and efficient records.
- Experience of gathering relevant information and preparing reports and responses to correspondence.
- GCSE grade A – C in 5 subjects including maths and English, or equivalent level of qualifications.
