Job description
Following the promotion of the previous post holder, we are seeking to appoint an organisation, efficient and enthusiastic administrative assistant.
The post holder will work closely with the Senior Administrative Officer to provide comprehensive administrative support to the Emergency Department senior team – medical, nursing and management.
They will support the Emergency Department in achieving its aims and objectives through the provision of timely and effective administrative support with a wide variety of tasks
The post holder will support the procurement processes for the department.
The post holder will have skills to communicate with a range of staff. They will be required to use their initiative to problem solve, manage their workload and deal with conflicting demands.

All new staff will be subject to a probationary period covering their first six months in post. Travel between hospital sites may be required.

- To support the senior leadership team with general administrative tasks
- To be responsible for the arrangement of meetings, minute taking and maintenance of action logs for the senior leadership team
- To use Microsoft Office systems effectively Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload
- Deal with incoming queries for the service from colleagues within the organisation and from partner organisations, both written and verbal
- Respond flexibly and be able to prioritise a diverse workload
- To provide timely and professional administrative services support to clinical and non-clinical staff
- To use the Trust’s systems to support the procurement of clinical and non-clinical items required to maintain safe services
- To use Trust Information systems effectively, including searches for detailed information
- To be responsible for maintaining internal databases and ensuring accurate inputting of data
- To manage the archiving process in line with national recommendations of the storage for information
- To adhere to the requirement for confidentiality and General Data Protection Regulations
- To maintain and improve own skills by undertaking the appropriate training and development activities relevant to the post
- To role model the Trust’s values and behaviours
