We are looking for a hard-working enthusiastic Administration Officer to join our team. Reporting to the Administrative Team Leader the role is part of a team of administrators who provide support for the Director of Learning and Teaching/Chair of the Board of Examiners as required, focusing on the key area of teaching administration to meet current and future departmental requirements.
As a professional, enthusiastic, and collaborative member of the department’s Administration team You will work collaboratively as part of the administrative support team and provide cover for other members of the team, as required (including sickness, holiday cover and the service needs of the department).
You require a minimum of A Level standard education or equivalent administrative experience. You will have good knowledge, skills and experience in supporting committees including Effective communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to communicate at all levels.
You will be responsible, as part of a team, for the smooth running of the departmental office, as well as working with the team to maintain high levels of student satisfaction.
You will have a good understanding of laboratory operations, instrumentation and facilities including NMR mass spectrometry, x-ray crystallography and chromatography. You will engage in the continual improvement of technical support and set-up, aiming to provide the highest quality student experience and you will be responsible for the highest quality support to the academic staff and research workers.
We expect you to work with a high degree of accuracy and possess excellent IT skills with experience of Microsoft Office and google packages with a flexible approach to work. You will follow and update protocols and Standard Operating Procedure documents as required.
