Job description

About us

bramarpla is a small yet internationally active business based near Brough, Hull. We are fast-paced, autonomous and social and work mostly remotely with 1-2 days in the office per week. Please only apply if you are able to commute to the office which is in a small village away from public transport links.

Our work environment includes:

  • Casual work attire
  • Flexible working hours
  • 60-80% work-from-home
  • Safe work environment
  • Growth opportunities

This is an exciting opportunity to enter a small company at a pivotal point and make a noticeable difference. Working directly with and under the direction of the two directors, the successful candidate will have control over the administrative activities of two growing brands. Fast-paced and creative from end to end, no two weeks will be identical and you’ll be challenged and encouraged in equal measure.

The ideal candidate for this position is someone who won’t crack under pressure, has excellent written English, exemplary organisation skills and is able to work alone with confidence. Our work environment is not traditional and we value positive energy, big thinking and efficiency in all our work.

The two brands that you will be working across cover very different industries with different customer groups and processes. One is very business-oriented and the other is very public-focussed. Both must be given daily attention in terms of administration to allow the directors to build on the foundations they have put in place. Your role will involve internal administration and external customer service tasks so confidence and tact are both required here.

Working from home on a roughly 80:20 ratio, it is vital that the candidate is self-disciplined with a good internet connection to be able to keep up with the work involved.

A day-to-day snapshot – what does the role entail?

  • Responding to all social media comments & shares
  • Responding to help-desk ticket items
  • Responding to and organising emails into pre-set folders
  • Packaging and posting a small quantity of physical orders (books) using Royal Mail & DPD Online
  • Handling the brands content for online release
  • Using the CRM to improve business processes
  • Taking telephone calls and arranging meetings
  • Occasionally arranging accommodation, flights and other transport for team members
  • Scheduling tasks into the teams diaries proactively
  • Managing directors diaries to effectively allocate workloads
  • Communicating directly with customers and partners

Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • Previous experience of working in an Administration role
  • An excellent approach to customer service
  • A friendly and welcoming approach with a positive and professional attitude
  • Be computer literate and a fast typist
  • Have good communication and organisational skills
  • Be able to work both as a team member and alone in a busy working environment
  • Possess a positive approach to learning and development
  • Have a flexible attitude towards hours worked and interest in supporting the wider team during holiday and sickness periods

Non-essential but useful Skills & Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of CRM systems and automated processes
  • Marketing and/or social media experience
  • Graphic design skills and experience

There is a competitive salary available for the right candidate and the option of additional hours, career development, management progression or CPD training if the candidate would like to persue these.

Please note, our office is often made happier with one or more of the directors dogs in the room so please bear this in mind where allergies or phobias are concerned.
