This role will primarily be based in the Student Advice & Support Office but will involve some working across different support services as required.
This is a varied role, and the successful candidate will work to assist in supporting students across our campuses. There is considerable daily contact with students (in person, via email, and via telephone) who come to front line services looking for advice and information on a wide range of topics and a friendly, empathetic, and reassuring manner is essential. The successful candidate must be able to adapt to working in different environments and should have experience of working in a busy office, and on a frontline reception, which will be a key part of the role.
In addition, with the other administration assistants, the post holder will help maintain the diaries of various staff members, through Microsoft Outlook. Excellent administrative skills, including a thorough working knowledge of Word, Outlook and in particular Excel are required. Ability to respond to people from all backgrounds who may be in distress or crisis is essential. Knowledge of the University’s Student Record System and Finance system would be an advantage, although training can be provided.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 3, (£22,681 - £25,138 per annum) and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
Informal enquiries should be made to Jemma Murdoch, Deputy Head of Student Support Services, 01224 272059, [email protected]
