22.5 hours per week
£21,000 (pro-rata for 3 days = £12,600) per annum

North Notts Business Improvement District (BID) is the UK’s first ever area-wide, place shaping BID. It is the largest BID in the UK by geography and the second largest by number of levy payers.

North Notts BID Ltd commenced trading on 1 September 2017 when businesses with a rateable value of

£12k and above voted in favour of developing a business improvement district for North Nottinghamshire.

Following a second successful ballot in June 2022, North Notts BID commenced it’s second five-year term on 1st September 2022.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the North Notts BID team in delivering our ambitious business plan.

We are looking for a team member who is passionate about supporting our BID members, promoting our area and the benefits that the BID can bring.

As well as being part of a team you will be able to work on your own initiative and with a variety of local and national businesses, public stakeholders, and commercial contractors.

The purpose of the role is to provide effective administrative support to the BID team. Activities will be varied, and you will need to be comfortable in a job where every day can be different.

Most importantly we need a team player who is happy to pitch-in with whatever needs doing – but at the same time is a self-starter who can work off their own initiative.

Duties and Responsibilities

As part of this role you will be required to assist the BID team with the administration of a wide range of

BID projects and activities:

  • Deal confidently with calls and email enquiries from BID members, offering advice on member benefits, liaising with the Council’s business rates team on bill-related queries.
  • Manage diaries, setting up appointments for the Maintenance Support Operative and other members of the BID team as required.
  • Ensure that all activities are logged on the BIDs Solomon CRM system, extract reports and mailing lists and assist with its general maintenance.
  • General admin support including coordinating mail-outs, minute taking, ordering stationery supplies.
  • Manage all administration of BID training courses including booking meeting rooms, meet and greet of visitors, arranging venues and catering, sourcing speakers etc.
  • Hands-on support at events including North Notts FoodFest, Party in the Square, Dinosaur Discovery

Day, What Next careers events and Christmas light switch-on events.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Essential:

  • A minimum of 5 GCSE at grades A-C or above (or equivalent), must include maths and English.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly as part of a team.
  • Able to prioritise a variety of tasks, methodical in approach and possessing a keen eye for detail.
  • Personable and confident self-starter, with the ability to tactfully use initiative and take a proactive approach to getting things done.
  • Excellent IT skills; fully competent with Microsoft office 365 (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc).

Desirable:

  • General knowledge of the Bassetlaw area and local economy.
  • Full endorsement free driving licence and use of a car when required.

Additional information:

  • The role will be based in the North Notts BID office in Worksop.
  • 22.5 hours per week (full time hours may be considered for the right candidate).
  • The core hours of work are Monday-Wednesday, 9am-5pm but is negotiable.
  • Flexibility around working days is required and could change subject to events and workload.
  • 25 days holiday entitlement plus bank holidays (pro-rata).
  • Occasional weekend and evening work will be required to meet the needs of this role.
  • The role is primarily office based but will require occasional travel for meetings and events.
  • This role is subject to a 6-month probationary period.
