Role: Business Support Administration Assistant

Department: Finance and Business Services (FAB)

Scale: SC4

Salary: £23,100 - £25,353

Location: Priory Road, Hull

Hours: 37 hours

Contract: Permanent

We are currently recruiting for an Administration Assistant to join our Business Support function. We are looking for someone with strong clerical/administration skills to undertake a wide range of tasks accurately and efficiently.

The role will include:

  • Oversees, undertakes and authorises the preparation of orders, requests to render account, invoices, payments of accounts, claims, pay, overtime and allowance documentation etc.
  • Ensures the safe custody of cash and the correct recording and balancing of cash/accounts.
  • Maintains appropriate records and inventories, files documentation.
  • Reconciles accounts and provides financial/statistical information as required.
  • Ensures adherence to stock control systems and takes responsibility for more complex purchasing/ordering requirements.
  • Undertakes/implements administrative, procurement and support services projects as required.

What is required?

  • Literate and numerate, educated to GCSE standard or equivalent.
  • Experience of cash handling and accounting systems, with a good understanding of payment processing and managing invoices.
  • Substantial clerical experience; incorporating the use of computer spreadsheets and databases and use of computer systems for data input, retrieval and procurement purposes.
  • Has the ability to produce written reports.
  • Experience of working in a secure and confidential environment.
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with people at all levels both internal and external to the organisation.
  • Demonstrates the ability to complete tasks accurately within specified deadlines.
