Hours:22.5 hours a week, term time only. 09:20am – 14:30pm Monday to Friday
Contract type: Permanent, 39 weeks a year

The Role
We are looking for a part time, term time only Administration Assistant to join our busy office team. The role is varied and includes providing, a warm, professional welcome for visitors, routine and ad hoc administrative support to a range of in-house professionals, liaising with parents and carers and helping to organise whole school events ranging from visits by local media and Pudsey bear to heritage coffee mornings for the wider Deaf community.
The person
Ideally applicants will have experience of using a range of Microsoft Office packages and management information systems. A good level of written and spoken English and proficient British Sign Language (BSL) skills are highly desirable though opportunities for sponsored training are available. All new employees enjoy a personalised induction and continuing professional development plan, our exceptional BSL team are tasked with supporting all staff to improve their signing skills and achieve the accreditation they deserve.
We are committed to safeguarding children and young people. Applicants for this role are required to apply for an enhanced criminal record check through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Following changes to Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE 2022) RSD Derby will also undertake an online search as part of due diligence checks on shortlisted candidates to help identify any incidents or issues that have happened, and are publicly available
