ABOUT SLATER INVESTMENTS LIMITED

Slater Investments, a boutique investment management company which provides UK equity-focused products, was set up in 1994 by Mark Slater and Ralph Baber. The firm’s pooled funds include the Slater Growth, Income and Recovery funds. We also manage segregated portfolios for institutional pension funds and High Net Worth Individuals, as well as a hedge fund. Slater Investments is wholly owned by its directors and staff.

THE ROLE

Slater Investments is looking to add an Admin Associate to its back office. The successful applicant will join a dynamic team in one of the UK’s leading equity Fund Managers, working with, and gaining exposure to, all areas of the business. Full and thorough training will be given, and a platform will be provided for CISI’s Investment Operations Certificate (IOC) to be taken.

No prior experience is required but previous office, admin, PA or hospitality experience is preferable.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a Junior role, predominantly involving providing support to the Operations Team.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Proficient and extensive PA support, including:

- Full diary management (scheduling meetings, ensuring the diaries are up to date, using judgment to prioritise meetings)

- Liaising with the relevant departments/individuals to ensure availability and avoid conflicts

  • Answering telephones and taking accurate messages in a timely and professional manner, providing information where necessary to callers or redirecting to relevant departments
  • General office admin duties, such as liaising with the cleaning company, ordering office supplies, etc.
  • Reconciling client and fund portfolios
  • Maintaining databases.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Team player – collaborative, flexible and supportive of the rest of the team
  • Ability to manage time appropriately and meet tight deadlines
  • Effective communicator – strong written English and a professional phone manner
  • Ability and flexibility to organise and manage several tasks at once
  • Proficient with MS Office – especially Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
