If you are interested in an important and challenging role within the NHS then we are currently looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Admin Assistant to join our expanding Cardiology team.
We are looking for someone who is able to work accurately and methodically to provide mainly admin support , assist with processing referrals , processing incoming post into the department, who can meet deadlines, show attention to detail, work as part of a team but use their own initiative, be able to work with all types of people and be helpful and reassuring when dealing with colleagues or patients.
You will need to be flexible and proactive, able to respond and adapt to the varying demands and changing circumstances of a busy Cardiology service. Resilience is an important quality to succeed in this role as is the ability to plan and organise workloads in response to the new and competing priorities of the service.
A key function of this role is to create and maintain effective working relationships at all levels both internally and externally therefore enhanced communication skills are essential. Applicants should be able to demonstrate previous experience in an administrative role. Knowledge of office procedures and experience in a Healthcare setting is an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.

The role is busy and varied and includes:
- General administration duties such as faxing, scanning, photocopying and mailing letters
- Sorting & processing incoming and outgoing mail
- Registering patient referrals & uploading referrals onto HIVE
- Requesting appointments
- Assisting in the maintenance of databases
- Maintain & monitoring patient information on database
- Dealing with telephone and email enquiries promptly
- Ordering stock for the department
- Filing
