Additional Learning Support Coach(Remote)

The successful candidate will be nurturing, patient and will genuinely want to make a difference and will be supporting learners who may have emotional behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD and associated complex needs.

Summary of role
You will be responsible for enhancing and enriching the learning of the learners in your care. Providing blended academic and pastoral advice, guidance, and support throughout their time in learning. You will adhere to the learners needs and create a positive and supportive environment for them to achieve.

- Provide inspirational support and guidance to learners throughout their learning journey, helping them to progress, achieve and reach their potential.
- Manage and facilitate interactive, immersive & engaging interactions including 121 sessions, virtual group sessions, digital learning interventions forums and chat sessions to meet the needs of the learner including those with barriers to learning.
- Adapt Babington’s learning journey blueprint to fulfil the requirements of our clients, learners and stakeholders which enrich and compliment the customer experience.
- Deliver learning and evidence progression to meet the targets set for the learner to enable learners to meet or exceed their goals
- Create individual support plans tailored to learner’s individual needs considering results of initial & diagnostic assessments
- Provide continuous and effective Information, Advice & Guidance to learners
- Engage and coach the learner’s Employer/Mentor to provide adequate support and guidance needed by the learner
- Complete detailed documentation to evidence the need for Learning Support Funding
- Work collaboratively with and provide accurate updates to the appropriate delivery colleagues on a monthly basis and support the timely achievement of the qualification
- Promote and embed Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding, British Values, Prevent and Health and Safety to all learning sessions.
- Communicate any issues or concerns about learners to your line manager and designated Safeguarding Officer as appropriate.
Brief person specification
Essential Qualifications
- Grade A-C GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent
- Level 4 Certificate in Supporting the Learning of Learners with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND)
- Level 3 Award in Education & Training (or equivalent) teaching qualification or willingness to acquire
Skills and experience
- Proven track record of delivery of Functional Skills
- Experience of and a proven track record of working with learners with additional learning needs
- Understanding of the SEND Code of Practice 2015
- Experience of successful working with learners with a range of learning difficulties or disabilities
- Experience of developing individualised learning plans and SMART targets
- Experience in using digital technologies and experiences to deliver learning
- Experience of liaising with employers and external agencies
- Experience of providing interactive and engaging teaching, training, and development opportunities to adults
- Experience, knowledge and understanding of safeguarding processes
- Ability to manage workload, time, and resources effectively and achieve deadlines
- Ability to deliver to agreed targets.
- Knowledge of the Awarding Organisations, End Point Assessment Organisation, Funding Bodies, Ofsted and other regulatory arrangements.
- Knowledge of ESFA funding guidance for learners with additional learning needs
- Reacts positively for requests to help and offer to support when colleagues are under pressure
