Apprenticeship Development Coach
Location: South East – Kent, Sussex, and surrounding areas
Salary: Grade E - £31,575 - £40,745 + company car/allowance, mobile working allowance.
FULL DRIVING LICENCE IS REQUIRED.

About the role:
The Apprenticeship Development Coach is responsible for the management of apprentice recruitment, progress review, progression planning, learning portfolio management, Gateway readiness, timely achievement and health, safety, and wellbeing of apprentices, in compliance with the Education Inspection Framework and relevant government funding requirements.
Appointment to this position is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
You will be responsible for the below.
Promotion of Apprenticeships
Managing stakeholder engagement and events with schools, influencers, and employers to generate suitable applicants and vacancies, managing matched and unmatched applicants to vacancies.
Through promotion of the apprenticeship offer, work with existing and new employers to generate and increase business, ensuring that employers can deliver the scope of the selected apprenticeship.
To ensure apprentices are signed up in accordance with contractual requirements, including undertaking Initial Assessments, sign up and induction of new apprentices. Make judgments on applicants’ prior attainment and starting position to determine funding levels and programme duration.
Retaining Apprentices
Take all possible steps to retain and progress learner on programme to attain the highest level of achievement possible.
This will include planning, managing, and driving the progress of learners in line with curriculum plan. Conducting regular progress reviews and accurately RAG rate apprentices based on progress against expectation using your knowledge and judgement.
You will implement timely interventions to drive achievement, ensuring agreement is gained from all parties, delivering on site tutorials and small group training when required.
Achievement
Manage the completion of all individually focused Off the Job records, ensuring it is sufficient in line with ESFA requirements. You will ensure evidence of completion is available for all elements of the apprenticeship and is submitted prior to the planned end date.
Work with the employer and college to ensure that each apprentice is prepared for End Point Assessment (EPA) and confirm evidence is recorded in the correct format as per relevant EPAO requirement and is sufficient for final gateway and EPA.
Essential:
- Presentation skills and experience in delivering briefing sessions
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with ability to Influence, challenge, negotiate and to manage conflict and difficult situations
- Understand Management Information Systems to be able to demonstrate and monitor progression towards achievement targets
- MS office skills packages, using technology such as laptops and tablets
- Knowledge and experience in learner safeguarding and wellbeing
- Experience in being responsible for own workload, diary management and working independently to tight schedules
- Recognised Health & Safety Qualifications, or a commitment to work towards, i.e., SSSTS, in line with contractual requirements
- Maths and English qualification Level 2
Desirable:
- Working knowledge/experience in Government Work Based Learning requirements and related inspection requirements
- Assessment, training or teaching qualification or a willingness to undertake a qualification (Teaching, training & assessing learning L3)
- CEIAG qualification L4
Special Conditions/Other Requirements:
- This role is a mobile role, with no office base and involve significant regional travel.
- Full UK Driving Licence is essential
- This role requires an enhanced DBS/PVG for child workforce and children’s barred list check
