About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Ad Operations Manager to join our Advertising team. You will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our digital advertising campaigns across various platforms. The role broadly covers three areas of responsibility: (1) assisting the ad sales team with the execution of programmatic and direct advertising deals, 2) managing relationships with ad tech partners and 3rd party demand sources, and 3) establishing internal operational processes related to the sales and execution of on-platform and off-platform campaigns.
You will work cross-functionally with internal teams including Marketing, Product, Finance, Legal, Privacy and Supply to achieve these objectives. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in ad operations, a deep understanding of the digital advertising landscape and familiarity with data protection regulation and consent management frameworks in EU and UK.
What you will do:
- Define, implement and manage operational processes that support growth of Trainline advertising business across both programmatic advertising and direct campaigns.
- Oversee the end-to-end execution of digital advertising campaigns, including campaign setup, trafficking, and monitoring to ensure accurate and timely delivery of ads.
- Continuously monitor campaign performance and implement optimization strategies to maximize revenue.
- Generate regular reports on campaign performance, including key metrics, trends, and actionable recommendations for optimization.
- Resolve ad delivery, ad quality, and technical issues, liaising with the relevant teams for support as needed.
- Manage relationships and grow revenue from existing programmatic partnerships on the web & app.
- Stay up to date with the latest ad tech advancements and proactively explore new technologies and platforms that can enhance campaign effectiveness and efficiency.
What You Will Need
You will be a smart, data-driven, commercially minded individual ready to take on the exciting opportunity of being a founding member of an ad organization within a business with meaningful growth and purpose.
- Experience in the advertising sector, either publisher/agency side or in ad tech, focusing on sales, operations, technology, and strategy
- Mastery of working in, and troubleshooting across, ad-servers and programmatic buying/selling platforms (Google Ad Manager experience essential)
- Deep knowledge of ad tech and experience managing relationships with DSP’s, SSP’s, and other vendors
- Demonstrated experience in extracting actionable insights and developing business strategies from data
- Experience navigating the General Data Protection Regulation and similar advertising privacy requirements
- Strong network of contacts within ad sales, technology, and operations industries
