Job overview
This is an exciting fixed-term post, leading a dynamic acute Occupational therapy team at Epsom and St Helier.
The post holder will be responsible for the leadership , development and the efficient operation of the Occupational service across both the Epsom and St Helier site.
The therapy service is a values-based team, with a strong caring and patient-focused culture.
The post holder will work along side an experienced and supportive therapy leadership team.
Main duties of the job
To manage the multidisciplinary team of practitioners and the service administration support, in a defined area. This includes the recruitment, appraisal, CPD and operational performance management of the team, working closely with the professional leads for all professions.
To provide operational leadership for the service.
To take the lead responsibility for the provision of high-quality care in the service to the local community in accordance with departmental guidelines.
To provide clinical leadership, taking the lead on specific professional initiatives in collaboration with other team leaders and AHP leads.
To undertake clinical duties which are consistent with professional background and an appropriately advanced skill level.
To be legally and professionally accountable for all aspects of one’s own work, including the management of patients in your care and maintaining professional registration.
To be prepared to help the team when there are staffing issues or clinical pressures and maintain the flexibility to do so across a range of areas.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- HCPC Registered
- Certificate / Diploma in management or relevant demonstrable experience of managing the complexities of delivery of care within the NHS.
- Post graduate education.
Desirable criteria
- Managerial qualification
- MSc Health Management or similar Post Graduate Qualifications.
Experience
Essential criteria
- 7 years experience as an AHP
- Managerial experience
- Extensive experience of providing acute Occupational Therapy
Desirable criteria
- Experience of budgetary management
- Experience of recruitment
