Job description
We are looking for an activity assistant to join our team at The Cyder Barn. Without you, our residents may spend much of their waking hours with nothing to do, which can take its toll on their emotional and physical health, so this post is vital to their well-being. You will occupy their time with leisure programs that stimulate the mind and body and promote social interaction. You will assist the activity co-coordinator to assess the needs of residents by speaking with them and meeting with other staff and families to then plan activities that can include arts, crafts, music, exercise, and games. To provide variety, you may also assist external entertainers such as musicians and movie theatres to develop programs for the home.
Training and experience are not required for this position, however, Interpersonal skills are a 'must have' attribute for the successful applicant as the role involves being with people constantly. You must have the compassion and patience to interact with those who may have difficulty moving, speaking or comprehending. You also need solid communication skills.

Salary: £10.50-£10.70 per hour
