Cygnet was established in 1988 as an independent provider of health and social care services in England, Scotland and Wales.
We are looking for a Part Time Activities Coordinator for Tyler Ward at Cygnet Hospital Blackheath. You will work 22.5 her per week covering 3 days a week.
Summary of the site:
Tyler Ward is a male PICU with 14 beds at Cygnet Hospital Blackheath. Tyler Ward strives to improve service users’ wellbeing, reduce risk and facilitate individual return to optimal functioning to fully engage in their recovery.
As an Activity Co-ordinator the role involves planning and implementing activities as a therapeutic medium under the guidance of a qualified Occupational Therapist who works full time on Tyler Ward and the Deputy Head Occupational Therapist who works full time and is based on Meridian Ward (part of the Secure Service Line at Blackheath). You will also be supported by an Occupational Therapy Assistant who works as part of the Tyler Ward Occupational Therapy Team. The post holder will be offered support and guidance to utilise some standardised assessments, implement structured groups and complete activity risk assessments.
In this role you will work within an MDT (which consists of Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Nursing, Medical and Social Work) to support recovery and rehabilitation for service users on Tyler Ward.
Cygnet Hospital Blackheath is situated in a bustling London location with great public transport links, community links, beautiful parks and historical landmarks such as the Greenwich Royal Observatory or the Cutty Sark.
Occupational Therapy Directorate
Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors we support over 150 Occupational Therapists. Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development.
Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway.
Activity Co-ordinator Induction:
We offer Activity Co-ordinators a thorough induction and training to support and consolidate core Occupational Therapy Skills.
