SEASONAL ACTIVITY LEADER
With over 35 years of experience, Ardmore Language Schools is a leading junior English Language programme provider which takes English learning beyond the classroom. We pride ourselves in offering young international students a high standard and safe experience in the UK whilst they enjoy a culturally immersive and fun activity programme.
We are currently looking for people like you to join our Activities Team this summer to lead activities, excursions and welfare to our varied students.
As an Activity Leader, you will be able to enthusiastically plan and implement a wide range of exciting activities. You will be confident at leading sports activities, arts and crafts, quizzes and games as well as able to effectively supervise and lead fun excursion days in busy cities.

· A passion for working with children and young people
· Confidence to safely escort non-native speaking students around busy cities
· An understanding of the importance of safeguarding
A sport, first aid or lifeguarding qualification is a bonus but not essential!
You must:
· Have the right to work in the UK
· Hold or be willing to obtain a valid DBS
· Be at least 18 years old
· Be available to work for 42 hours per week for the whole of July, including evenings and weekends

Essential Criteria:
o Ability to lead a variety of fun and engaging sports activities and games for students.
o Ability to motivate and enjoy working with large groups of international students.
o Previous experience working with children/teenagers.
o Ability to create and sustain working relationships with students.
o Available to work for 2-8-week periods during June, July and August, on a fixed-term basis.
o Always prioritise student welfare and implement our Safeguarding Policy.
Desirable Criteria:
o Previous summer school experience.
o Hold a valid First Aid Certificate, Lifeguard or sports coaching qualification.
o Have experience of working with students aged 9 – 17 years old.
Main Tasks
To plan, organise, implement and pack up a variety of activities during morning, afternoon and evening sessions. Activity Leaders ensure that activities are structured, engaging, accessible and enjoyable for all participants. They also ensure that students attend the set activities and that attendance records are accurate. Activity Leaders engage with students when supervising excursions by providing them with relevant games, tourist facts and opportunities to use their English language skills. Activity Leaders also assist with welfare duties. Applicants holding specialist qualifications will be required to undertake duties such as pool duties/sports coaching and first aid provision.
Key Facts
o Reports to Head of Sports and Activities.
o 4 week contract with a potential extension.
o 42 hours per week. (Some weeks you may be required to work in excess of 48 hours. You will therefore be asked to ‘opt out’ of the 48-hour Working Time Directive).
o Residential option available with a deduction of £39.90 per week (£5.70 a day) from your weekly pay for full board and accommodation.
o Evening and weekend work required.
