Due to the continued success and expansion of Avonline Networks we have an exciting opportunity for a Supervisor to join our team in South West and South Wales
Avonline Networks deliver service excellence on a nationwide basis. From the national fibre networks which millions of homes and businesses rely upon every day, to the infrastructure that delivers the latest technology to Multi-Dwelling Units (MDU's) across the UK. Providing installation and maintenance of infrastructure to MDU's across the UK for public sector, social housing, and private landlords, which include the latest technology, FTTP and IRS.
Reporting to the Delivery Manager. The ideal candidate will have experience in building Fibre Networks, with a thorough knowledge of cabling, splicing, OTDR and ILM testing, and ideally VM network commissioning standards.
This position requires a high degree of self-motivation, organisation and supervision skills, to oversee the operational activities undertaken by both direct labour and sub-contractor teams.
A proven background in Telecoms and fibre networks, to include FTTP and PIA, would be preferable.
Working closely with clients, LA, and 3rd party stakeholders to deliver projects that meet their requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervision of staff.
- Monitor the delivery and performance of work orders inline to contract SLA’s, VM and BT/OR quality standards.
- Supervise the delivery and completion and Invoicing of works.
- Maintain and update job-packs & records, record and share test results with the customer/client.
- On site supervision/Coaching
- Managing all activities on the VM & BT/OR network to include, installation of microduct and fibre cable, splicing, joint management - Testing of cabinets and Trunk routes and provision of in spec Test results.
- Deal with day to day issues and problem solving.
- Comply with Health & Safety and environmental policies
- Responsible to ensure van audits, onsite audits are completed.
- Undertake site safety and product quality audits, in line with client and Company expectations
- Maintain skills matrix, identify training requirements, issue tool box talks/briefings, provide technical support to include onsite planning
- Progress Reporting to Manager, identifying completed works and works in progress.

JOB KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED
- Strong skills in client management, planning, logistics, resource management and commercial controls.
- Experience working within the telecommunications industry preferably at a supervisor or manager level.
- Good working Knowledge of work management systems and windows packages-(Excel/Word)
- Financial awareness
- Good awareness of Health & Safety and Quality Assurance Procedures, Roads and Street Works Act 1991, Construction Design Management Regulations and Section 74 Regulations.
